“Oppressive regimes should be careful when comparing their opponents to Lithuanians because Lithuanians have a history of winning this kind of thing,” Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis wrote on the social network X.

His response addressed the Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili’s Facebook post, where Papuashvili claimed: “Just so we know, spitting into food and this kind of behind-the-back behaviour is a Lithuanian style and has always been considered the most disgraceful conduct.”
