For Georgia's Liluashvili: Anyone trying to use US president's inauguration as propaganda tool intentionally deceives public
“The 20th of January has arrived, which the Georgian Dream used in their propaganda to spread falsehoods they tried to impose on the public. However, before the inauguration of the new U.S. president, we witnessed bipartisan support for the citizens of Georgia, not for the Georgian Dream,” said Beka Liluashvili, a member of the Gakharia – For Georgia party.
Liluashvili emphasized that anyone trying to use the inauguration of the U.S. president as a propaganda tool is intentionally deceiving the public.
“The Georgian Dream has exploited the 20th of January in their propaganda, pushing lies they attempted to force upon the public. But before the new president’s inauguration, we saw bipartisan support directed toward the citizens of Georgia, rather than the Georgian Dream. This support took the form of clear political actions, such as the non-recognition of the Georgian Dream and the imposition of sanctions on those responsible for anti-democratic actions in the country. This bipartisan support for the Georgian people, opposing the current regime, is growing stronger.
In this context, any attempt to link the U.S. president’s inauguration to their propaganda is a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. Even the Georgian Dream no longer believes this narrative. Initially, their representatives claimed that relations would reset after January 20. Then, they shifted to saying they hoped it would reset. Now, they claim that this reset depends not on the U.S. president’s change, but on the end of Russia’s military aggression. All of this is a lie designed to stall for time so that Ivanishvili can protect his wealth and assets from international sanctions. They are using lies to create false hope in society, hoping to preserve their wealth. This struggle will ultimately end in the victory of the Georgian people, and that victory is near,” Liluashvili concluded.
