For Georgia urges CoE delegation to clarify its mandate and purpose, accuses GD of exploiting the visit for propaganda
Anna Buchukuri, a member of the Gakharia-For Georgia party, called on the Council of Europe delegation to clarify its mandate and purpose, accusing Georgian Dream of using the visit for propaganda purposes.
“We provided the Council of Europe delegation with detailed information about the people unlawfully imprisoned,” Buchukuri said. “I won’t comment on the assessments of other opposition parties today. However, our team, including Dimitri Tskitishvili, emphasized the importance of the delegation making a clear statement about its mandate and purpose before leaving, as Georgian Dream will exploit this visit for lies and propaganda. But this propaganda will burst like a soap bubble.”
She further stated: “We discussed Georgian Dream’s misuse of the delegation’s visit for propaganda and urged them to issue clear statements about their mission. We detailed the cases of Ivanishvili’s so-called hostages—dozens, even hundreds of individuals unjustly beaten, detained, and imprisoned. Our primary demand is their release, and we have asked for the delegation’s assistance in achieving this.”
