Federalists' Chergoleishvili regret accepting agreement with Gakharia as valid deal
“It is fundamentally wrong to label Parliament as illegitimate while simultaneously granting legitimacy to its investigative commission. My primary issue is that an agreement was violated,” Tamar Chergoleishvili, one of the founders of the Federalists party, posted on social media.
“Clearly, when we reached an agreement, Gakharia’s representative did not grasp Bidzina’s intention to group everyone together through the investigative commission, nor did they anticipate that Gakharia himself would be called to account. I admit I made a mistake in treating my agreement with Gakharia as valid, and I will not repeat that mistake,” Chergoleishvili asserted.
Giorgi Gakharia, chairman of the Gakharia for Georgia party, is set to appear before the Parliament’s temporary investigative commission regarding the events of June 20, 2019.
