Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, hosted the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, as part of Saidov’s first official visit to Georgia, the Ministry of Education reported.
Mikanadze expressed his gratitude for Uzbekistan’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and highlighted the importance of close cooperation between executive authorities in advancing bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed existing collaboration in the fields of education and science, as well as prospects for further deepening the partnership.
Particular attention was given to the joint Georgian-Uzbek initiative, the Rectors’ Educational Forum, which aims to enhance cooperation between the higher education institutions of both countries by promoting the exchange of best practices.
The parties also discussed organizing joint youth camps for Georgian and Uzbek students, agreeing that such projects will promote active recreation, uncover young people’s physical and intellectual potential, and encourage healthy lifestyles.
Givi Mikanadze confirmed Uzbekistan’s readiness to expand cooperation across all three levels of Georgia’s education system.
