Education Minister: BMBF's decision won't impact ongoing research collaborations or students
“The decision of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) will not affect any ongoing research collaboration formats, nor does it apply to students and scholarship programs,” stated the Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Alexander Tsuladze.
Tsuladze commented on the information spread by the German Embassy, according to which “the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), as a result of deviation from the European path, is suspending cooperation with the Georgian Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, as well as other Georgian agencies at this stage.”
“Today, as confirmed by the statement issued by the EU representatives themselves, this decision will not impact any ongoing research collaboration formats, nor will it affect Erasmus, DAAD, or similar programs. Furthermore, this decision will not have any implications for students or scholarship programs. Moreover, it will not hinder the bilateral cooperation arrangements that universities maintain with various international partners. These statements pertain solely to the temporary suspension of future cooperation between the ministries.
I would also like to add that I find the political goals and interests of these individuals astonishing, which we will discuss later,” stated the Minister of Education.
