Minister of Education, Science and Youth Givi Mikanadze met with the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Youth, Felipe Paullier, at the UN Headquarters in the United States.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in youth policy development. The minister presented the activities and future plans of Georgia’s Youth Agency to the UN representative.
Both sides highlighted the importance of the ECOSOC Youth Forum and Georgia’s active participation in the Global Youth Dialogue. Discussions also covered the 2026 Action Plan and a ministry study assessing the needs of the youth sector.
Mikanadze emphasized that supporting youth initiatives and involving young people in national processes remains a priority for the Government of Georgia. He noted that the agency implements various programs, including youth camps, grant competitions, and advisory councils.
He also spoke about international youth camps implemented jointly with Azerbaijan and Armenia, noting that Turkey will join the initiative this year.
Felipe Paullier thanked the minister for sharing Georgia’s experience and expressed readiness for continued cooperation. He also invited Mikanadze to an international forum scheduled to take place in New York in November.
