Georgia’s Education Minister and Azerbaijani counterpart visit Technical University

The Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, together with the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Emin Amrullayev, visited Georgian Technical University (GTU), where the two sides discussed strengthening cooperation in higher education and science, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth reported.

According to the ministry, the ministers were welcomed by GTU Rector David Gurgenidze, who briefed them on the university’s international projects, scientific and academic achievements, and ongoing research activities. Gurgenidze also emphasized the successful participation of GTU scientists and students in major global scientific experiments.

The ministers and invited guests toured an exhibition of scientific projects and met with Georgian and Azerbaijani students who presented innovative works developed using robotics, artificial intelligence, and modern technologies.

The parties expressed readiness to implement a number of joint educational and scientific projects to further deepen cooperation between the universities of the two countries.

For his significant contribution to advancing academic and scientific ties between GTU and Azerbaijani higher education institutions, Rector David Gurgenidze awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of Georgian Technical University to Azerbaijan’s Minister.
