“Lelo is lying when it claims to support the President’s initiative,” Elene Khoshtaria, leader of the Droa party, wrote on social media.

According to Khoshtaria, Salome Zourabichvili (ex-president of Georgia) made it clear that the upcoming elections are not legitimate and that participation is meaningless.

“Lelo is lying when it claims to support the President’s initiative. She clearly stated that these are not real elections and that participation is absurd. We owe it to ourselves to be honest and clear about our position,” Khoshtaria wrote.

Her remarks were in response to a post by Lelo leader Badri Japaridze, who declared: “We agree with President Salome Zourabichvili that elections will not be held on October 4! This is a battlefield, and we are entering it with a fight, together with the Georgian people.”
