CEC: Three political parties submit applications for local self-government elections

Three political parties have formally applied to the Central Election Commission (CEC) to participate in Georgia’s upcoming local self-government elections, CEC spokesperson Natia Ioseliani announced during a press briefing on Tuesday.

The parties that submitted applications are Gakharia for Georgia, Georgian Dream, and Lelo for Georgia, according to Ioseliani.

The CEC spokesperson outlined different application deadlines based on parties’ status:

Established parties with either registration in the previous parliamentary elections or current parliamentary representation have until August 8 to submit their applications.

New parties without previous parliamentary election registration or current parliamentary representation faced an earlier deadline of July 14. Two such parties applied within this timeframe: Conservatives for Georgia and Homeland, Language, Faith.
