Catholic Church grants forgiveness to COVID-19 affected people

The Catholic Church has granted forgiveness  – under specific conditions – for the sins of those affected by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The Vatican published a relevant decree.

According to the conditions, the patient with COVID-19 should say a certain number of prayers or mark celebrations from a distance. As for those who pray for the caretakers’ health must also read the Bible ‘for at least half an hour’.

Relatives who look after their sick family members may also be forgiven.
