Anaklia Deep Sea Port construction progressing on schedule, Economy Ministry says
The deepening of the seabed and the design and construction of a breakwater for the Anaklia deep sea port are progressing according to the approved project timeline, Georgia’s Ministry of Economy has announced.
The large-scale works are being carried out by Jan De Nul N.V., a major Belgian company selected through an international tender and contracted by the state.
According to the ministry, the first phase of the Anaklia deep-water port is set to handle up to 600,000 containers annually, with an estimated investment of $600 million.
