Eight US states have declared states of emergency amid the coronavirus outbreak, CNN reports.

Governor of Oregon Kate Brown said the states of emergency will be in force for 60 days. Oregon has reported 14 cases of the novel virus.

The states of emergency have declared in Washington, Florida, California, Kentucky, New York, Maryland, and Utah as well.

The most cases were recorded in Washington – 18 deaths, two in Florida and one more in California.

A total of 500 cases were reported in the U.S.
