There are 27 locals aged over 100 living in Adjara

There are 27 locals aged over 100 living in Adjara region of Georgia. The 34 citizens will turn 100 in 2020.

Tornike Rizhvadze, Chairman of Adjara government congratulated Asie Makharadze, an elderly woman living in Furtio village, Shuakhevi district of Adjara region on her 100th birthday today.

Asie Makharadze is the mother of 8 children, 20 grandchildren and a great-grandmother of 47 kids. Rizhvadze gave the woman 1000 GEL issued by Adjara Ministry of Health and Social Affairs as a one-time social aid for citizens aged over 100.

The program of monetary assistance for citizens aged over 100 has been carried out by Adjara Healthcare Ministry since 2004. The sum increased up to 1 thousand GEL starting in 2014.
