PM – Historic Project of Kobi-Gudauri highway to begin before end of the year

Infrastructure development is the main priority of the government – Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said during the presentation of the 6-month-work report of Roads Department of Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure.

According to PM, development of infrastructure has three objectives: Taking full use of transit and tourist potential of the country, reduction of travel time and making trips more comfortable and safer, and, struggle against poverty.

“Infrastructure development makes possible to make the economy more competitive. This gives the opportunity to create job places and allows Georgian business to make wealth,” Bakhtadze said.

PM talked about two major infrastructure projects. He said that a historic project of Kobi-Gudauri highway would begin and another highway of Rikosi Pass would be completed before the end of the year.

The Roads Department of Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure is holding a presentation of the report of 6-months work at Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel in Tbilisi.
