More than 200 citizens from 40 countries registered for 'Work From Georgia' project

More than 200 citizens from 40 countries have already expressed their desire to come to Georgia and work remotely under the new project of the Government of Georgia “Work from Georgia”. The National Tourism Administration released this information.

According to the administration, 138 applicants are going to travel to Georgia with an accompanying person, family members, which means that if the applications are confirmed, more than 200 foreign citizens will be able to come to Georgia and work remotely.

56 percent of applications received from  August 27 to September 2 are self-employed, 23 percent are full-time employees, and 21 percent – entrepreneurs.

According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, the head of the National Tourism Administration, the project started on August 27 and in a short period of time gained great interest in various countries around the world, especially in the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Turkey and other countries.

Work From Georgia – this is a platform of the National Tourism Administration, which will host foreign citizens wishing to work remotely from Georgia.  The Government of Georgia offers the remote employees of various global companies based in 95 countries to carry out their work remotely from Georgia, for a period of no less than 180 days.

Those wishing to take advantage of this offer can fill special forms on https://stopcov.ge/, and they will have to provide documentation for the conditions that are necessary to enter the country. Furthermore, they will undergo two-week quarantine and testing at their own expense.
