Investigation into Batumi incident launched

The investigation has been launched into the incident that took place in Batumi when cameraman of Georgian First Channel was attacked. The Ministry of Internal Affairs told the First Channel.

“Adjara Police department has launched the investigation into the fact of illegal interference with journalists’ professional activities under Article 154 of the Criminal Code of Georgia”, – MIA reports.

The incident occurred near the residential building, where four people have been injured as a result of the elevator crash today. Representatives of the construction company “Grand City” attacked the cameramen who filmed the accident scene. They verbally insulted them and started throwing stones at them. As a result, the cameraman of Georgian First Channel Ednar Kochalidze received injures in the head. Elevator crashed down in the residential building on Aghmashenebeli Street in Batumi today. All four people being in the cabin were injured.
