PM says country can't reach economical achievement if seafarer's profession will not become valued

“If it weren’t you, the world would halt, the economy would stop,” the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia addressed the seafarers in Batumi and congratulated them on International Day of the Seafarer.

The head of the government noted that “Georgia has more than 12 000 seafarers, working under flags of different countries for the country, trade and maritime development.”

“We are not able to achieve anything economically if the seafarer’s profession will not become one of the most valued, if marine education in this country will not develop,” said the Prime Minister.

The International Day of the Seafarer is celebrated on June 25 annually.
