Georgia reports 2,210 coronavirus cases, 5,587 recoveries, 74 deaths

Georgia reported 2,210 coronavirus cases, 5,587 recoveries, and 74 deaths on September 5, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 865 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 336 cases, and the Kakheti region with 223 cases.

28,025 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 15,263 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 12,762 were PCR tests.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 564,837, among them, 514,768 people recovered and 7,806 died.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 7,89 %, while 8,33% in the past seven days.

There are 105 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 7,019 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 2,415 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

Currently, out of 1,579 critical patients, 413 require mechanical ventilation.

As of today, 1,314,104 people got coronavirus jab with 22,733 in a day.
