Georgia reports 2,171 coronavirus cases, 1,074 recoveries, 24 deaths

Georgia has reported 2,171 coronavirus cases, 1,074 recoveries, and 24 deaths on Wednesday, the official figures show.

27,648 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 15,912 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 11,736 were PCR tests.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1,359 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 202 cases, and the Adjara region with 135 cases.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 315,913, among them, 296,532 people recovered and 4,207 died.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 7,85%, while 5,33% in the past 14 days.

There are 84 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 4,289 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 744 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

Currently, out of 839 critical patients, 166 require mechanical ventilation.

As of today, 47,949 people got the coronavirus vaccine.
