French Ambassador believes all energy in Georgia to be channelled towards resolution of serious challenges

There are a lot of serious challenges facing Georgia today. The health crisis, the economic crisis, the uncertain situation in the South Caucasus, so it is important that all the energy in the country is mobilized and channelled towards meeting these challenges, French Ambassador to Georgia Diego Colas stated.

According to the Ambassador, the personal envoy of the European Council President Charles Michel, Christian Danielsson has put a good solution on the table and the parties must work constructively to resolve the political crisis.

“It is important, I think, that the political process works and goes towards the resolution of the present situation. We are very keen to see the negotiations succeed. There are a lot of serious challenges facing Georgia today. The health crisis, the economic crisis, the uncertain situation in the South Caucasus, so it is important that all the energy in the country is mobilized and channelled towards meeting these challenges. For that reason, this political crisis must be resolved. There are proposals on the table. Mr Danielsson has put some good proposals, and parties must work constructively on that issues to find a resolution,” Diego Colas concluded.

The second EU-mediated attempt to solve political crises in Georgia failed. EU mediator Christian Danielsson said he proposed a solution that puts the country’s interest first to the parties, but none of the political actors agreed on the solution.
