Georgia has unprecedented high-level cooperation with the United States. Passing of Georgia Support Act by the US House of Representatives confirms that we have the bipartisan support of the US legislative branch – Davit Zalkaliani, Minister of Foreign Affairs said.

According to Zalkaliani, approval of the Act indicates that the issue of Georgia is on top of the US political agenda.

“We have not had such a high-level legislative initiative in the history of the strategic partnership with the U.S. and Georgia’s independence,” Zalkaliani said.

According to Foreign Minister, the document outlines cooperation in many directions including security, defence, trade, financial assistance and respect to Georgia’s territorial integrity.

The US House of Representatives unanimously approved a bipartisan Georgia Support Act on October 22. The document will be submitted to the Senate and then to the US President for signing after which it will be enacted.
