Georgian Ambassador to US: Georgia-US strategic partnership at highest level

The meeting between US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze on February 9 at the Pentagon “confirmed, once again, that the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States in the field of defence and security is at the highest level,” said Davit Zalkaliani, Georgia’s ambassador to the US.

According to Davit Zalkaliani, the US values Georgia’s contribution to the fight against threats to global security as well as the country’s impact on stability and peace in the South Caucasus.

On February 9, Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze was hosted by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin at the Pentagon. Following the meeting, the US Secretary of Defense declared that, in recognition of the importance of the bilateral defence partnership and the relationship between the US and Georgia, Georgia would be able to request and acquire vital military capabilities more easily.
