CEC regrets ISFED PTV to cause misperception

Central Election Commission (CEC) said, “ISFED did not fully consider the protocols while announcing the so-called discrepancies in summary protocols.”

“Sadly, the spread of these inaccurate data triggered misperceptions in society and misled them. ISFED stated today that it did not consider correction protocols, which are an integral part of the summary protocol while speaking about misbalances in 8% of final vote tallies of the October elections,” CEC stated on Friday.

CEC welcomed the will of ISFED to cooperate with the election administration.

Earlier, Georgian election watchdog the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) said its parallel vote tabulation (PVT) showed disbalances in summary protocols in 8% of polling stations.

ISFED Supervisory Board Chair Tamar Sartania stated that PVT data showed an excess of 8% of the summary protocols.

“The CEC corrected discrepancies in summary protocols after the polling day. We question the correction; it raises doubts when done without a recount,” Sartania noted.
