Wrestling U20 | Konstantine Petriashvili, Davit Chechelashvili become European Champions
At the ongoing Under-20 European Championships in Italy, Konstantine Petriashvili (97 kg) and Davit Chechelashvili (79 kg) became gold medalists in freestyle wrestling. Both athletes defeated their respective opponents 10:0 and deservedly won the tournament.
Nika Zangaladze (57 kg) was defeated in the final and settled for the silver medal. Earlier today, Goga Otinashvili (70 kg) won a bronze medal in the final block.
At the Under-20 European Championships in Greco-Roman wrestling, which concluded several days ago, the Georgian national team won three gold and four bronze medals. The champions were Aleksandre Rusitashvili, Anri Putkaradze, and Luka Kochalidze. The bronze medals were won by Vakhtang Lolua, Anri Khozrevanidze, Koba Karumidze, and Saba Purtseladze.
The Georgian national team took first place overall at the continental championships in Greco-Roman wrestling with three gold and four bronze medals.
