World Tourism Organization – Tourism sector suffered USD 320 billion loss due to COVID-19 pandemic

The tourism sector has suffered USD 320 billion loss in the first five months of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic – World Tourism Organization (WTO) reported.

According to WTO, the flow of international tourists was reduced by 56% in the first 5 months of the year.

“The latest data confirms the importance of tourism restoration. The dramatic decline threatens the livelihood of millions of people,” said Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization.
