Tourism sector operators to be required to register in database

Tourism sector operators in Georgia will be required to register in the database of tourism activity entities maintained by the Georgian National Tourism Administration, according to planned amendments to the Law on Tourism.

The draft legislation states that tour guides, tour operators, and travel agencies will all be subject to mandatory registration.

It also specifies that registration in the administration’s database will be a one-time process and will be free of charge.

In addition, the bill introduces a regulatory framework for high-risk tourism activities. Providers of such services will be required to undergo mandatory certification starting June 1, 2026.
