UNM nominates its candidate for GPB Board of Trustees

Opposition United National Movement (UNM) party nominated Lia Shavgulidze as its member for the Board of Trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB), First Vice-Speaker Gia Volski announced at the Bureau sitting.

The ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party nominated Vasil Maghlaperidze, former GPB Director-General, on its quota. The Public Defender – Lasha Tughushi.

An open competition to select three members of the Board was announced on March 17. The parliamentary competition commission chose ten members to be introduced to the Parliament: Marina Giorgadze, Arina Tavakarashvili, Giorgi Iasashvili, Bela Kopaliani, Vasil Maghlaperidze, Aleksi Noniadze, Lasha Tughushi, Lia Shavgulidze, Donara Shonava, and Zaza Khutsishvili.

Georgian Parliament will vote for the GPB Board of Trustees today.
