Another European airline has joined the Georgian aviation market. Transavia France has begun operating direct regular flights between Paris and Tbilisi, with service starting on April 12.
The airline will operate two weekly flights using an Airbus A320. The launch follows intensive negotiations between Transavia France and the Georgian Airports Association, which successfully secured the route.
The inaugural flight from Paris Orly Airport carried 163 passengers. Upon arrival at Tbilisi Shota Rustaveli International Airport, passengers were welcomed by Levan Moseshvili, Director General of the United Airports of Georgia, Akaki Barkaia, Deputy General Manager of TAV Georgia, and representatives of the Civil Aviation Agency and aviation sector.
Transavia France, a low-cost airline founded in 2006, is owned by Air France and Dutch-based Transavia. Its main hub is Paris Orly Airport. Tickets are available at www.transavia.com.
