Despite adverse weather conditions and heavy snowfall in western Georgia, flights at David Agmashenebeli Kutaisi International Airport are operating normally.
According to the United Airports of Georgia, airport services are carrying out timely aircraft de-icing procedures even amid heavy snowfall, while the runway and taxiways are being intensively cleared.
“All scheduled flights are taking off and landing without any issues today. Only the early-morning flight to Athens and the return flight were not operated,” the statement said.
Additionally, due to the temporary suspension of the Tbilisi–Batumi train caused by severe weather, airport services arranged transportation for 12 passengers from the Brotseula railway station to Kutaisi International Airport.
The United Airports of Georgia noted that adverse weather conditions are expected to continue in the area of Kutaisi International Airport until the first half of January 2.
