Geostat reports passenger traffic and flights rise at Georgian airports in Q2 2025
In the second quarter of 2025, Georgian airports experienced a notable increase in both passenger traffic and flight numbers, according to the National Statistics Office (Geostat). A total of 2.1 million passengers were served, representing a 17.7% rise compared to the same period last year. Specifically, airports welcomed 17.4% more arriving passengers, 1.1 million, while departures increased by 18.1%, reaching 1.0 million.
Geostat reports that 95.1% of passenger traffic during this period was on scheduled flights. The number of passenger flights operated from Georgian airports reached 8,600, marking a 12.8% increase compared to the previous year.
Cargo and mail volumes also saw growth, totalling 9,000 tonnes in the second quarter. Of this, 92.2% was received cargo and mail, with the remaining 7.8% dispatched. Cargo flights numbered 0.9 thousand, marking an 86.9% increase compared to the previous year.
Overall, Georgian air transport carried 172,600 passengers and 38,200 tonnes of cargo in the quarter. Passenger numbers rose by 1.5%, while cargo transport decreased by 18.6% compared to the same period last year.
