The total number of COVID-19 deaths worldwide is reaching 800 000, said Johns Hopkins University.

The global number of coronavirus cases has increased to 22,6 million.

The US has the highest number of deaths (173 000), followed by  Brazil (112 000) and Mexico (56 100).

Coronavirus cases are increasing in Europe as well, a significant increase was recorded in France, Spain and Germany.

As for Georgia’s neighbouring countries, Turkey reported 1 412 new cases and 19 new deaths in the last 24 hours, and Azerbaijan – 139 new cases. Russia’s daily coronavirus cases go up to 5,000.
