“The Gakharia-Khazaradze cooperation pact is essentially an agreement between two political forces and Bidzina Ivanishvili, with Gakharia returning to his natural habitat, while in Lelo’s case, it has caused disappointment, including among supporters who voted in the October 26 elections,” said United National Movement Chairwoman Tina Bokuchava.

According to her, “supporters’ disappointment will be reflected in the results that Bidzina Ivanishvili will table in the October 4 special operation, if this special operation takes place at all.”

“Instead of conducting the October 4 special operation, they should free political prisoners, abolish Russian laws and create an electoral environment in the country where new, free and fair elections can be held,” Bokuchava declared.

She noted that everyone agreed, including Lelo, that the October 26 parliamentary elections were “a Russian special operation against the Georgian state.”

“What has changed since then? What changed is that Mamuka Khazaradze himself and many other political leaders and people who never had anything to do with politics are now political prisoners; the electoral environment has significantly deteriorated; our country now has a truly consolidated dictatorship,” Bokuchava stated.
