Tchiaberashvili, Mogeladze, Gachechiladze set for hearing in Parliamentary Investigative Commission
The former officials Zurab Tchiaberashvili, Natia Mogeladze, and the politician Levan Gachechiladze are expected to testify at the February 21 session of the investigative commission studying the activities of the 2003-2012 government, the head of the commission, Tea Tsulukiani, announced.
According to Tsulukiani, Friday’s session will focus on the 2008 elections, while the issue of the August 2008 war will be addressed the following week.
“As the second part of today’s session concludes, the commission members will discuss whether to invite Zurab Tchiaberashvili, the former chairman of the Central Election Commission of Georgia, to Friday’s session. We will also consider inviting Natia Mogeladze, who led the political union’s department at the State Audit Office before the October 1, 2012 elections. She was involved in the fines and humiliating procedures implemented by the State Audit Office against opposition voters at that time.
We may ask Levan Gachechiladze, who has long claimed that he was denied victory in the second round of the 2008 presidential elections, to attend Friday’s session. At the time, many objective observers believed the second round was manipulated. We want to dedicate Friday’s session to the 2003-2012 elections, as the Commission views this issue as crucial,” Tsulukiani said.
