Tbilisi City Hall to temporarily halt construction process at Lisi Lake

Tbilisi City Hall plans to temporarily halt construction processes on the territory of the Lisi Lake. Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said during the city government’s sitting that research of the vicinity was ongoing.

“Ongoing processes on the territory make it clear that there is a threat of destruction of natural characteristics. Lisi Lake is a recreational space attractive for Tbilisi locals. Therefore, chaotic constructions should be stopped,” Kaladze said.

According to Tbilisi Mayor, construction works should be carried out so that living in the city is comfortable, economic and tourist potential are increased and interests of property owners and investors are protected. These three directions should be in harmony to ensure development in the right way.
