Tbilisi City Court acquits Tedo Abramov of drug-related charges due to insufficient evidence
The Tbilisi City Court has issued an official statement regarding the verdict in the case of Tedo Abramov, charged with the purchase and storage of a substantial quantity of drugs.
The court declared that Abramov was acquitted because the evidence against him did not meet the required standard.
“By the decision of the Criminal Cases Panel of the Tbilisi City Court, Tevdore Abramov was found not guilty and acquitted of all charges,” the statement read.
According to case materials, Abramov was charged with the illegal acquisition and possession of a significantly large quantity of narcotics, an offence under Article 260, Part 6, Subparagraph “a” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
“The court, after a thorough review of the case, rendered an acquittal due to insufficient evidence meeting the appropriate standard,” the Tbilisi City Court concluded.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has announced its intention to appeal the decision of the Tbilisi City Court at the Tbilisi Court of Appeal, following the submission of the legal reasoning.
