Tbilisi celebrates Tbilisoba with vibrant and diverse programme, centred on Rike Park and Orbeliani Square

The capital will celebrate the public holiday, Tbilisoba, with a rich and varied programme that caters to citizens of all ages.

According to incumbent Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, speaking at the municipal government session, this year’s festivities will take place on September 20 and 21, with Rike Park and Orbeliani Square serving as the main hubs of celebration.

“Visitors to Rike Park and Orbeliani Square will be greeted by thematic decorations, large-scale installations, and dedicated photo zones. Festivities will include open-air cinemas, entrepreneurial markets, and gastronomic and wine festivals at both locations.

Throughout the day, children’s concerts, entertainment, sports activities, musical evenings, and theatrical performances will be held. Rike Park will host an eclectic musical programme featuring popular artists, while in Abanotubani, an exhibition-sale titled “Tbilisi Diversity” will be arranged,” Kakha Kaladze stated.

Furthermore, Mayor Kaladze highlighted that on the evening of September 20, at 8:00 p.m., a special ceremony honouring Tbilisi’s Honorary Citizens will be held, an event broadcast live to all viewers. The celebrations will culminate on September 21 with a grand gala concert at Europe Square, starting at 8:00 p.m.

“I would like to invite everyone, young and old, to join in these joyous days. This is the day of our city. We look forward to you joining us in the spirit of community celebration and sharing the diverse soul of Tbilisi together,” Kakha Kaladze stated.
