Vehicle movement to be restricted during Tbilisoba event preparations and throughout festival
In connection with Tbilisoba events in the capital, as well as due to preparatory works for the events, vehicular and public transport movement will be restricted on certain sections.
According to Tbilisi City Hall, from 2 p.m. on September 11 to 11:30 p.m. on September 14, movement will be partially restricted around Grigol Orbeliani Square and the area adjacent to the Presidential Administration from Giorgi Atoneli Street to No. 13 Vakhtang Orbeliani Turn.
“From 12:15 a.m. on September 15 to 11 p.m. on September 23, movement will be completely restricted in the area adjacent to the Dry Bridge, on Italia Street, in the area adjacent to Grigol Orbeliani Square and near the Presidential Administration from Giorgi Atoneli Street to No. 13 Vakhtang Orbeliani Turn.
During the restriction period, vehicles moving from Saarbrücken Square towards the Dry Bridge will be able to travel using the right bank of the Mtkvari. Meanwhile, getting from the right bank of the Mtkvari towards Rustaveli Avenue will be possible using Virsaladze and Chanturia Streets.
From 11 p.m. on September 18 to 8 a.m. on September 23, access will be restricted in the area surrounding Abano Street, specifically from Abano Street towards Ioseb Grishashvili Street. During this period, entry to Ioseb Grishashvili Street will be available via Firdousi, Mirza Fatali, Akhundov, and Ibrahim Isfahanli Streets.
From 12:15 a.m. on September 17 to 11 p.m. on September 23, movement will be restricted on Metekhi Bridge and Europe Square, as well as from Gorgasali Square towards Metekhi Bridge, from Metekhi Rise towards Europe Square, and on the ramp ascending from the left bank of the Mtkvari towards Europe Square.
During this time, vehicles heading from Gorgasali Street to the right bank of the Mtkvari will continue movement both towards the embankment and from Gorgasali Square via Kote Abkhazi and Tumaniani Streets towards Vakhtang Gorgasali Street.
Movement will also be restricted from Abano Street towards Ioseb Grishashvili Street, during which access to Ioseb Grishashvili Street will be possible using Firdousi, Mirza Fatali, Akhundov and Ibrahim Isfahanli Streets.
During the aforementioned period, changes will be implemented to public transport routes. Specifically, during the Dry Bridge restriction, routes N320 and N323 buses heading towards Baratashvili Street will continue from Saarbrücken Square towards Lev Tolstoy Street and will connect to Baratashvili Street via Kosta Khetagurov, Noe Zhordania Embankment and Baratashvili Bridge. In the opposite direction, using Baratashvili Street and Baratashvili Bridge, they will connect to Kosta Khetagurov and Javakhishvili Streets via Noe Zhordania Embankment. Subsequently, bus route N320 will reach Saarbrücken Square via Gogiberidze Street to continue to the established scheme, whilst the N323 route will drive towards Chikobava Street and continue to the established scheme.
Similarly, minibuses N536 and N550 travelling towards Baratashvili Street will continue from Saarbrücken Square toward Lev Tolstoy Street. They will then connect to Baratashvili Street via Kosta Khetagurov, Noe Zhordania Embankment, and Baratashvili Bridge. In the opposite direction, the N536 route from Baratashvili Street via Baratashvili Bridge, utilising Noe Zhordania Embankment, will connect to Kosta Khetagurov and Javakhishvili Streets, then proceed to Saarbrücken Square via Gogiberidze Street, continuing along the established route. The N550 route will remain unchanged in the opposite direction.
During the restriction period near Europe Square, bus routes N301, N310, N331, N345, N350, and N371 will continue their journey from Gorgasali Street towards Kote Abkhazi Street, while departing from Freedom Square in accordance with the established route.
During transport movement restrictions on Italia and Virsaladze Streets, bus routes N326, N342, N331, and N397 will connect to Baratashvili Street via Rustaveli Avenue, Freedom Square and Pushkin Streets,” reads the City Hall’s statement.
