Tea Akhvlediani, Georgia’s State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, has met Christoph Späth, the OSCE Special Representative for the South Caucasus.

Akhvlediani stressed the importance of the OSCE’s role and active engagement in resolving the conflict peacefully, including through its co-chairmanship of the Geneva International Discussions. She thanked the organisation for its steadfast support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders.

The two sides emphasised the importance of the Geneva International Discussions and of the Ergneti Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism.

The State Minister outlined progress in implementing the reconciliation and engagement policy and shared her further plans. These aim to improve the socio-economic conditions of conflict-affected communities and to deepen dialogue and rebuild trust, based on common interests, between communities artificially divided by the conflict.

According to the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, the two sides agreed to continue their close cooperation.
