Speaker Papuashvili: Eurobarometer survey proves attitude toward Georgia is hostage to political agenda; we are in the right, Eurocracy is in the wrong

“Every objective assessment confirms to our society that whenever Georgia is measured by factual criteria, the country leads the field—even ahead of several EU member states,” Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili declared on Friday.

Papuashvili was commenting on the latest Eurobarometer study, which ranked Georgia in the top five European nations for public trust in government with a 54.1% rating.

The Speaker argued that whenever political agendas and malicious motives interfere in evaluations, external critics suddenly portray Georgia as a backslider.

“This is the reality, and this is the mirror into which Eurocrats must be made to look. It is direct, factual proof that attitudes toward Georgia are held hostage to a political agenda, and a malicious political agenda at that,” Papuashvili stated.

“It is yet further proof that we are in the right and the Eurocrats are in the wrong,” the Speaker concluded.
