Tbilisi police seize 626 methadone tablets and arrest suspected dealer

Officers from the Isani-Samgori Main Division of the Interior Ministry’s Tbilisi Police Department have arrested a man on charges of illegally acquiring and storing a particularly large quantity of drugs and facilitating their sale.

According to the Interior Ministry, the investigation established that the suspect was involved in a drug-dealing scheme.

“Officers searched the suspect, his home and yard, and seized as evidence 626 methadone tablets, packed together in a single bundle.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260⁴ of the Criminal Code, which carry sentences of up to 20 years or life imprisonment,” the Interior Ministry said.
