Salome Zurabishvili – Way for resolution of occupied territories passes through region

The way for resolution of the issue of occupied territories passes through the region. We know that theoretically and this does not happen in practice – Georgia’s President Salome Zurabishvili stated in Tskaltubo at the forum “Regional Economy – Strong Municipalities in Decentralization Reform.”

During the speech, President talked about the importance of regional development for the country’s future. “We stand on gold but we do not know how to use it yet,” she said.

President Zurabishvili also said that the problem of emigration could be also solved through the development in the regions.

“Regions represent attraction of the country. The capital city is extinguishing but we have more to show in the regions,” Zurabishvili said and claimed that strong self-governance had the key role in popularization of regions.
