Salome Zurabishvili: Dialogue with Russia is inadmissible until Georgian territories are occupied
Dialogue with Russia is inadmissible until Georgian territories are occupied, – Georgia’s President Salome Zurabishvili made this statement in an interview with euradio.fr.
“Until there is no message from the Russian government that Moscow is ready to remove the occupation line and there are no signs from our allies, the Americans and the Europeans, in my opinion, there is no point in conducting a dialogue with Russia. I do not see where this will lead to or what is the point in talking to Putin, whose actions are becoming tougher. As a diplomat, I know that we could not refuse from dialogue if we want to achieve results, but it is necessary to have an appropriate context and essential elements”, – Zurabishvili said.
As the President of Georgia noted, it is impossible to restore diplomatic relations with Russia today. Asked why Russia continues aggressive actions, Salome Zurabishvili responds that “Russia continues carrying out imperial and then Soviet politics line – divide and rule. They do not have an alternative policy”.
