Rehabilitation works of Zugdidi Botanic Garden to be complete in 3 weeks

The rehabilitation works of Zugdidi historic Botanic Garden are planned to have been completed in 3 weeks.

Aleksandre Motserelia, State Envoy in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region became introduced with the ongoing works together with Zugdidi Mayor earlier this afternoon.

Pavements were arranged, the administrative building was repaired and sewage channels were replaced with new ones, an artificial lake was decorated.

The project is carried out by the Georgian Municipal Development Fund together with Zugdidi Municipality City Hall with the financing of the World Bank. The project cost is 12 million GEL.

The Zugdidi Botanic Garden was built in the 50s of the 19th century at the initiative of Ekaterine Chavchavadze, wife of Davit Dadiani, ruler of Samegrelo region.
