Protest at Russian Embassy in demand of Doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili’s release (Video)

The protest was held in Rome at the Russian Embassy in Italy in demand of the release of Doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili, detained by the South Ossetian occupational regime.

Georgian citizens living in Italy arrived at the Russian Embassy with Georgian flags and posters and performed the Georgian national anthem.

Tbilisi-based doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili, who was illegally detained by Russian occupation forces near the occupation line with Akhalgori Municipality, was sent to two-month pretrial detention, on November 15.

Vazha Gaprindashvili was charged with “illegally crossing the border” under article 322 of the criminal code of Russia. Tbilisi activated the hotline mechanism of EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) to Georgia.
