Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze held an organizational meeting in Bakuriani to discuss preparations for the European Winter Youth Olympic Festival, Bakuriani 2025.
He received a report on the event’s infrastructural and organizational readiness. According to the Government Administration, the country is prepared to host the festival at a high level, with the necessary infrastructure completed. Notably, an international-standard ice arena has opened in Tbilisi, and a 3.5 km biathlon and cross-country ski track will be inaugurated in Bakuriani today.
The first delegations will arrive in Georgia on February 4, with the first ice hockey competition set for February 6. Bakuriani 2025 will take place from February 9-16, bringing together up to 1,000 athletes from 45 countries. Competitions in eight winter sports will be held in Tbilisi, Batumi, and Bakuriani.
