PM: Decrees signed to launch several dozen football centers

The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze attended the opening of the football centre Avaza, where he announced the government’s plans to develop dozens of similar facilities across Georgia.

According to Kobakhidze, decrees have already been signed to launch several dozen football centres in different regions. He noted that the construction of a new stadium will mark “a new page in the history of Georgian football.”

“This is an extraordinary football centre that has been completely renovated, and for this I would like to express special gratitude to the Football Federation and Tbilisi City Hall. It is one of the most valuable investments — not only in high-performance sports, but also in promoting a healthy lifestyle, which is vital for our country and society,” Kobakhidze said.

He underlined the government’s ambition to expand sports infrastructure nationwide, including multifunctional sports complexes.

“We have ambitious plans in all directions. Georgian football and Georgian sport in general will achieve even greater success, and the government will spare no effort to support this,” Kobakhidze added.
