Parliament approves Mikheil Chikviladze as member of Board of Trustees
The Georgian parliament approved Mikheil Chikviladze as a member of Board of Trustees of the Georgian First Channel with 94 votes for, and 0 – against.
Chikviladze was among the three candidates selected by a Competition Commission on March 4. The other two contenders were Manana Ghoghoberidze and Nino Mindiashvili.
Nine candidates participated in an open competition announced for a vacant post in Board of Trustees of the Georgian First Channel: Malkhaz Aslamazashvili, Donara Shonava, Mikheil Chikviladze, Zaal Anjaparidze, Mikheil Chiaureli, Manana Ghoghoberidze, Nino Mindiashvili, Ia Mamaladze, and Ioseb Chumburidze.
The Georgian First Channel announced an open competition for a vacant post in Board of Trustees on February 8. The membership of the Competition Commission was approved on February 21.
The post became vacant after Zaza Shatirishvili applied to the parliament on December 24 with the request to terminate his duties earlier than expiration of terms. Shatirishvili was elected as a member of Board of Trustees with the parliamentary majority quota.
