Paata Imnadze - There is no reason for panicking over coronavirus outbreak in Georgia

Deputy Head of the Georgian National Disease Control Centre Paata Imnadze says “there is no real risk of coronavirus outbreak in Georgia.” He adds that “Georgia does not have direct flights to Wuhan where the virus originated.”

“As for the risks, Georgia complies with all its obligations, that is, we act in accordance with the International Health Regulations.

There is no real risk of coronavirus outbreak in Georgia as we do not have direct flights to Wuhan.

I think the panic is overdone,” Paata Imnadze said.

A newly identified virus originating in Wuhan is spreading between people primarily via the respiratory tract. As foreign media reports, the number of confirmed cases now exceeds 400.
