Within the framework of the 34th Annual Meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the President of the National Bank of Georgia, Natia Turnava, and the Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili, met with Matteo Patrone, EBRD Vice-President for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.
According to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), the meeting highlighted the importance of close cooperation between Georgia’s financial sector and the EBRD.
Natia Turnava presented the positive trends in the Georgian banking sector, emphasising its rapid growth, transparency, and attractiveness to investors and international financial institutions.
“The EBRD is one of Georgia’s key partners in financing the financial sector, having already provided $566 million. Our banking sector is not only one of the most dynamic and profitable in the region but also one of the most transparent. This makes our ongoing cooperation with the EBRD both logical and valuable, and we expect it to continue with the same intensity,” said Turnava.
